| Choosing Beach Cruiser Bicycle Colors
Over the years I have been ask a lot of questions about Beach Cruiser Bicycles from the proper size to whether beach cruiser bicycles are designed to be ridden on the beach (the answer is "no"). However, when people come into the shop the one question rarely ask is what color bicycle is best for me. Considering the importance of a trendish beach cruiser color selection is every bit as important as how many speeds or white wall tires. Just because you are sure of the color doesn't mean it is right for you.
First completely forget everything you have heard about the difference in men's and women's colors. Beach Cruiser bicycles come in an array of colors many which are clearly gender neutral such as orange, chrome and white beach cruisers. Simply add a flower or Death Star decal and you have an awesome bicycle.
Second, most beach cruisers are built as unisex beach cruisers with a middle placement crossbar. So enjoy the thrill of a beach color bicycle made all about you from decals, stickers, tassels and baskets.
Here are a few thoughts when it comes to selecting the right color for your beach cruiser bicycle.
Black is the color of dignified strength. More executives and management types select black as the color for their beach cruiser than any other group.
Pink is the color of ultimate femininity. This color says more about how the person feels on the inside than how they look on the outside. Never have I had someone vacillate on choosing Pink. They either love it or hate it. Nobody is in between on the selection of Pink as a color. (Recommendation: If you have 20 or more lbs to lose don't select Pink)
White is the color of individualism. People selecting white beach cruisers typically will spend an additional $20 - $30 on stickers and decals. Many purchase a tachometer, air horn and other accessories to stake the bike as solely their creation.
Red the color of battle in ancient Rome is the sign of traditionalism in beach cruisers. People selecting red typically remember their first red wagon and the old Schwinn Flyer. Geritol should be the symbol for this beach cruiser bicycle buying group.
Green means go in almost every country of the world and it keeps that meaning when customers come beach bicycle hunting. Green beach cruisers come in emerald green, mint green, forest green and lime green. There are so many shades of green that they cover the entire spectrum of customers. Young women seem to navigate to the lighter color of green and then typically accessorize it with a white beach cruiser basket.
Blue is the color of first place and a blue ribbon panel is always a distinguished group. Beach Cruisers in light blue, royal blue and dark blue seem to be more popular than ever. A blue bike makes the statement that you are neither to neither stuffy nor clinging to traditionalism. Most blue beach cruisers don't require additional accessories other than a set of white or chrome fenders to provide accent.
Purple was Cleopatra's favorite color. A Purple Heart signifies heroism in battle and purple has always been associated with royalty. Deep purples allow for great accesorization and light purple gives its own statement. More young women select purple (after pink) than any other color and most female purple beach cruiser riders have completed at least some college. (Recommendation: If you are over 50 stay away from Purple. It only underscores your age limitations)
As you can see color in Beach Cruiser Bicycles are something that not only makes a statement but sets the tone for accessorization of baskets, bells, horns, lights and spoke lights. Although, there are many Beach Cruiser Accessory sites I have been referring customers to http://coltonindustries.biz for quite some time. So when selecting your beach cruiser don't only ask about what speeds, models and styles are available but ask what color looks best on you. The color of your beach cruiser tells people more about you than you really think. So colorize.
